What is the Test Like?
After you schedule your appointment, you will be sent important Test Preparations that begin 48 hours before your appointment date. The reason for the preparations is to make sure that your Autonomic Nervous System is as
un-stimulated as possible.
The test involves taking two sets of temperature readings on over 100 points on your skin, which takes about 30 minutes. (Note: Temperature sensor as shown here is used to gently touch the skin and take the temperature readings. No electricity, vibrations, or anything is put into your body. It is simply an infrared thermal sensor, a sophisticated medical thermometer using infrared technology).
When you arrive you will 10-15 minutes to relax and acclimate. The test is done standing. Temperature measurements are done by gently touching specific locations on your face and neck as well as front and back torso with a temperature sensor.
After that you will remain standing for 10 minute cooling period in your undergarments. (You will likely feel cool and get the goose bumps.) After the 10 minutes and while still undressed, temperature readings at all of the same locations will be taken and the test is concluded.
The test will be sent to Alfa Thermodiagnostics, Inc. to generate your report.
A follow up visit to review your report will be scheduled within one to two weeks to go over any customized guidelines to follow and referrals to local practitioners for therapies or further testing as needed. The report can be forwarded to your physician as well. I recommend follow-up Thermometry if you have improvements to make and to check progress. Otherwise, an annual screening is fine.
